Im not prego. I would never have an abortion. But how do u have an abortion? Is it like takeing pills? Or do you have the baby early? Or what?
Best Answer: If it's before 12 weeks you can have a chemical abortion and you will just bleed like a period. If it's after 12 weeks, they will do the vacuum method. They dilate your cervix and extract the fetus that way.. I don't even want to go into later term or partial birth abortions.. you can google that... I am pro-choice up until later term and partial birth abortions.. that is just wrong...

It depends on how far along you are. I think you can find videos on youtube that explain it.
Less than 12(I think) weeks you can take pills that pretty much put you into labor at home, and you expel the fetus.
12-20 (I believe) weeks you have a D&C, which is when they put you under anesthetic, open the cervix and cut/vacuum the baby and contents of the uterus out.

From what I understand, they give you medicine that kills the baby and then you just have a miscarriage that day or a few days later. The more extreme abortions involve actually entering the womb and sucking out the baby with a tool, causing it to die. Either way, it is intentionally stopping a heart from beating, which in my mind is murder.
Never say Never….there are several options when it comes to terminating a pregnancy (abortion). Depending on how far along you are, and your tolerance for pain, etc….It also depends on the physician performing the procedure…..with that said:
If you are less than 7 weeks you can take the pill, which induces a miscarriage like situation….you will bleed (heavily), clot, cramp, vomit, etc. There is generally a longer recovery with this one, and if you already have children it will be difficult for you to care for them without help, as you will feel very weak.
If you are 7-12 weeks you can have a surgical abortion (costs less than taking the pill). They will sedate you, the physician will use a vacuum like apparatus. This is the quickest procedure (30-45 minutes) with the least physical recovery time. You will also have to allow time for the sedation to wear off; after that you are done. Then you go home and sleep it off; you will bleed pretty much like a normal period. Although this is the quickest way, there are some heavy emotional periods that will follow.
Beyond 12 weeks, the procedure becomes more and more dangerous…not really sure about what happens at this stage, but I do know they become more and more expensive as your gestation increases.
If I am not mistaken, abortions are not recommended beyond 6 months (20-24 weeks)
Hope this helps. Do your research and ask questions; call clinics; read pamphlets, etc…
abortion has always been a debate. But here is a site with facts and logic.
Usually up to 9 weeks you can have an abortion with pills, after that it has to be surgical. You don’t “have” the baby at all.

you go into an abortion clinic you have to have an ultra sound first then you are given drugs to make u sleep then they suck the fetus out with a vacuum.after you wake up and you get abit of blood like a normal period which last a few days and after a few days you have to have another ultra sound to see if everything was removed and if it isnt the same procedure is done .
It depends on how far along you are into pregnancy and they have pills or the vaccum method where they put you to sleep.
Nobody should ever put their baby through this:

you have an abortion by scheduling one with a local clinic. how one is performed depends on how far along the woman is. if it’s 9 weeks and under, the woman can take RU-486, which is a medication that stops the hormones from sustaining the pregnancy, then causes the body to expell the embryo and the pregnancy tissues. if the woman is 9-14 weeks, then she has to have a suction aspiration procedure, where a cannula is placed in the cervix(most of the time the cervix doesn’t need to be dilated, but if the pregnancy is over 12 weeks, it has to be, but only dilated to about the size of a pen) and the pregnancy is suctioned out.
if the pregnancy is much further along, the procedure is usually a D&E, which is where the fetus is dismembered in utero and taken out. sometimes there is induction procedures, where the fetus is euthanized prior and then labor is induced, but this is usually reserved for women who have to abort due to the fetus being fatally ill.
They have you take the test to make sure you’re pregnant, then you are given the drugs and they knock you out completely. The last thing I remember is a nurse assistant injecting me with something and waking up to someone putting my underwear on. They give you antibiotics to prevent infection and some birth control pills to keep you from getting pregnant again. For my boyfriend and I, we didn’t want to get an abortion, We wanted this baby more than anything. The only thing holding us back is that I just graduated from high school, I was a freshman in college and we already had a 2 yr old daughter, and he was the only one with a job. We didn’t have enough money to have another baby and it still crosses our minds all the time. We still have an ultrasound pic that we look at and always think, what if? If you decide to do something like this, it probably will be hard on you emotionally. I cried all the time, because I was already attached to the baby at 7 weeks. I will always remember that way it moved and the due date. There is a sign that I see all the time and it makes me cry, it says, “Mommy I would have loved you” -the voice of the aborted.
