Best Answer: it's always akward to talk to my mom...i'm almost 15 and i'm too shy to ask her for tampons! it's really akward to talk to my mom about anything...i envy those girls who have a really close relationship with their mom and can talk to them about anything...if i were you i'd go to planned parenthood and get it behind her back....then if she ever finds them just be like "it's for my period mom, and you make it so akward to talk to you about these things so i went and got it myself..." i was planning to do that too...in fact i posted a question on here if you look at my questions and it says exactly what you said...i was too shy to ask her so i never did...props to you though if you do talk to her

I think you should start off saying how much you HATE your period, say it’s so bad you can’t concentrate at school. Go on like that for a few weeks, and then say someone at school suggested birth control, just to help with periods. This way she’ll understand it’s an actual problem with you.
Hm, I went on birth control when I was 15, so I suppose 14 isn’t bad.
    Hope I helped :)

Tell your mom exactly why you want it, and ask her to take you to the doctor. The doctor will tell you if you’re physically ready to take BCP’s.

Many physicians recommend that women don’t go on hormonal birth control until their bodies are done adjusting and growing, around 17 or 18. Going on it earlier can cause issues with bone development later on. Try talking to your doctor and see what they recommend, there may be other options for you.

I think you have to be a bit older. I’ve had my period since I was 8 and I wasn’t able to go on to bc until I was 15, almost 16, per doctor.

To go on birth control you have to have a reason for it, so explain what exactly you hope birth control will help with your period. Be as detailed as possible, that way both your mom and your doctor can decide what is best for you.,

sorry, but you are too young to start that. It’s a lot of bad consequences.

Ask your mom to take you to see OBYGN, because not every pill is good for you.

You’re only young your periods will just be working out their schedule so they might not need to be regulated for a couple of years.
Some girls find it awkward to talk to their mums about it, i did.
Just pretend one of your friends is on it and you were wondering if it would be good for you to go too.
Don’t worry, she’ll have felt the same way when she had hers.

I went on the pill when I was 13, and not for safe sex reasons but for health reasons. My period was very painful and the doctor actually prescribed for me to be on it. Maybe you should talk to a doctor and if they feel that it will help whatever your issue with your period is, then you can take your mom to talk to him

You are a little bit young for birth control. You should try and talk to your mom about this. If your finding it awkward to talk about it to your mom do you think you ll be able to talk to the doctor? The doctor will have to do tests to see what is wrong etc. your only young so your periods will be all over the place.
