Can someone provide a valid answer as to why drugs are illegal?

If you are going to talk about addiction, that’s not a valid reason, alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine are all legal drugs and not everyone is addicted to them. Four generations have applied an unreasonable stigma to drug use, but in my opinion, denying ones right to use drugs is unconstitutional. Do your research and find out why drugs were made illegal in the first place. It was due to bigotry, racism, and hysteria.

All of what you have forementioned is contributing to the decline of America’s I.Q. As Im sure you learned in school for every action taken their is something called a reaction and most reactions to people using the substances you mentioned cause the wrongful death of others. I look forward to the day where I can push my childrens stroller into the grocery store without having to go through a ploom of smoke. What about the rights of people who choose not to do these substances that are forced to endure something through no control of their own should have been the real question. I for one will continue to lobby for alcohol tobacco products and all non prescribed narcotics to be illegal they contribute nothing positive to society.

They burn holes in your brain haven’t you heard the news?!?!
JK… there is no valid reason, perhaps for super hard drugs like meth and heroin just because i’ve never seen a happy outcome on either of those, but the ones i partake in have no negative effects and i’m still a full functioning member of society.

i didnt do any legit research but my theory is that tobacco alcohol and caffeine are legal because the government makes profit from them. think about it, caffeine is in a bunch of popular products like soda and tea. then the government raised the price and taxes on ciggerettes which gives them money and pretty much everyone drinks alcohol. the government couldnt make much profit if they legalized other drugs because people could grow them themselves. weed, poppies, shrooms, and cactus are all so easy to grow that the government wouldnt be able to control them.
