How can I stop the smell of smoking without quitting smoking?

I have been smoking for quite a few years now and I have no intention of quitting so please don’t lecture me on it. My current girlfriend does not like the smell and we have managed to get the smell out of the house however I always smell like smoke even after a shower. is there any advice fellow or ex smokers can give?

Best Answer: You can try to switch over to an Electronic Cigarette. It's actually a really easy switch. Do some research on it before you even think of shelling out any money as there is a learning curve and maintenance involved as well as many different models. You would want to get the one (and back-ups) that would most likely fit your smoking habits. Anyway, I got one and within 2 1/2 weeks I just stopped smoking regular cigs and went totally to the e-cig and I wasn't even trying to quit just cut down because of the price of cigs now! LOL Oh, I've smoked for over 30 years! You can look on youtube for some information and read some forums like vapersforum.com and e-cigarette-forum.com The forums are good because you can read real user reviews & links to reputable vendors etc. Good luck

    you can’t

and without sounding like i’m lecturing….

to a non smoker (and ex smokers are worse) the smell is quite off putting. And our noses are very keen….

and no matter what you do you can only try and mask the smell with air fresheners.

Guess you can always find a girl friend who smokes.
You won’t get rid of the smell without getting rid of the cause. So she will either have to learn to live with it or not.

Chew chewing gum after you’ve smoked and spray strong perfume on yourself after you shower.

A non-smoker will always notice the smell of smoke!

It’s permeating out of every pore of your body! For example, even mouthwash won’t remove it from your breathe. If you wear cologne, you’ll smell like a combination of “smoke” & “cologne” (nasty). The smell gives us “non-smokers” a headache!

Also, you relatively speaking got the “smell out of the house”!

    >”I have no intention of quitting ”

At some point, “there will be a moment of truth”, and you’ll have to choose!

    >”My current girlfriend …”

I guess it’s a choice, just like your smoking!
