How does someone with a cleft palate (harelip) sound when speaking?

What does someone with a cleft palate (also called a harelip) sound like? What letters or words in particular do they have trouble pronouncing?
I am writing a book where one character has this issue. Thanks.

Best Answer: Every word in the english language requires the palate to create the sounds. So, the person would just be mumbling.

They usually sound like someone who plugs their nose and talks. Not quite sure about what letter and or words they have trouble pronouncing, I’m sure you might be able to find something about it on the internet.
