How should I search for a Physician specializing in chronic pain?

My friend was injured 2 years ago. Her injuries included a badly broken wrist, severe damage to her hand, and arm. She has had several surgical procedures to repair the damage. She has regained some function in her hand, however she has severe chronic pain. Her pain does not respond well to medication. I hope to help her find a physician that works wonders, where should I start?

Tell her to start soaking her hand and wrist in Epson Salt that is put in water as hot as she can stand. She can also do the same with her arm if the container is large enough. All the Doctors will do is give her more pain medication. Sometimes it takes a long time to get back to normal. And you can bet one thing for sure, arthritis will set in and she’ll have pain the rest of her life when it rains, or she is out in cold weather. She could have some cortisone injected in those areas, but don’t make it a forever thing. She can only get three of those a year. She can also use small dosages of prednisone, but only for a while, because long uses of that stuff makes you can weight. Good luck
