I knew that apart from testing new drugs, clinical trials are also used to ascertain the effectiveness and safety of a new medical devices such as implants, prostheses.. etc . But what are the factors that make the clinical trials the most reasonable means to test a new medical devices?
Best Answer: we've had one lecture on this......the points that i managed to pick up is that clinical trials are good if they are randomised, double-blinded and placebo-controlled. because then the trials can be generalised to the targeted/normal population.
