I really want something that will just amaze my teacher. We’re creating 2010 Olympic event planner things, I forget what they’re called, but a part of it is having an opinion article. I really want something that will shock my teacher. Any fabulous ideas!?

Why the Olympics do (or do not) actually help the (world or host country’s) economy. Depending on your opinion. There is A LOT of research on this topic. And public opinion, for that matter.

Do about Beijing and Chinas human rights record
How a country like Canada has federal laws against discrimination of sex-race-etc.(human rights) but when the olympics are there it’s the olympic committee that dictates it’s rules and by-pass the laws of a country. And the citizens of that country are powerless to have those laws enforced, suchas the women ski jumpers were not allowed to compete even though the laws of Canada are supposed to protect those rights of those women…?
