My cat had kittens and one of them has a cleft palate and it is only two days old. What should I do to make it survive?
Best Answer: Take it to the vet. Even if surgery is too much (Which surely it is), they might be able to tell you more about how to care for it, or if it won't be able to survive, they could put it down. That costs a fair amount of money however. So, if you're not down with spending money, it might end up not so well. according to this site I'm at, "kittens with this type of deformity usually can’t nurse properly." So I guess you could hand feed it, but it would probably end up having a crappy life, depending on how severe the cleft is :(

You need to help the mom by hand feeding it until it is strong enough to take it to the vet …and then they will tell you what to do and if it is worth it to correct it with surgery. Wait until it is a little strong to take it to the vet.

You need to take it to the vet and they will do a surgery to repair it. If you can’t afford it, surrender th e cat to the local humane society and they will try tot ake care of it or put it down humanely.
Kittens with a cleft palate are unable to suckle properly and have to be tube fed instead. Take the kitten to the vet to have the cleft surgically repaired.
