What type of birth control would you recommend?
Besides a condom and the Depo Shot (which I am currently going off of) what do you think is the best birth control? Also I know the pill isn’t right for me because I can’t take it at the same time everyday unless there is a pill you don’t have to. Also I want to be on something that as soon as I stop it, I can get pregnant a couple weeks after.

Best Answer: i'd say give nuva ring a try. i just got a year supply of it from my gyno. you put it in yourself, and take it out yourself. you wear it for 25 days, take it out for one week and then put it in again.www.nuvaring.com theres a ton of information on there. :) good luck.

    The ‘best’ method is the method that’s best for you.

    If you want something for short term use, I’d probably recommend condoms+spermicide. Cheap, easy to use, and very effective when both are combined.

    If you’re wanting something for longer term use, you might consider an IUD. Very effective, nothing to think about, and fertility returns quickly once it’s removed.

    (But do remember that there is NO guarantee that you’ll get pregnant immediately after going off the pill. Statitstically, it takes most couples 3-6 months to become pregnant once they start to try.)

    I think any type of birth control would be in your system longer than a few weeks after stopping. Some women can get pregnant after missing one pill and others it can take 6 months after stopping.

    I don’t know about how long it takes to get pregnant after removing the Mirena IUD.

    How long from now do you plan on trying to conceive would be the big question here.

    Well. . .my closest suggestion to what you are looking for is the nuva ring which is inserted just below your cervix and slowly releases hormomes.

    Otherwise there is the “implant” so to speak which requires a tiny “surgical implantation” usually right in your gynocologists office called an IUD.

    Each and every body is different. . .

    however these are two choices that may work for yours ( ;

    The IUD would be my first choice, however, I doubt unless you are EXTREMELY fertile that you will find yourself pregnant after only a few weeks after ending birth control of any type. usually the body needs to go through a cycle or two without the added hormones etc. . .that birth control entails.

    Hope I helped (:

    Umm yeah I don’t like the pill either. I wouldn’t reccomend shots though. i’m trying to think what BC I want after this baby is born. I’d say CONDOMS and spermicide…but you might not always have it available…
    Um maybe an IUD. Not sure.

    I loved the Mirena IUD which can last for up to 5 years which is great if your not planning on kids anytime soon but you can also get it out early if you change your mind. I had mine in for 3 years for the first year or 2 i had a period every couple months which was short and sweet and then the last year I went 6 months without one. Then once i decided to get it removed I got pregnant within 3 months. They say it can take up to a year though. When I had it inserted i had some cramping which wasn’t too bad and the same when it came out. For me this was the best choice bcuz like you I forget the pills often and I didn’t want to have to go in every 3 months for a shot or gain extra weight. Once i have this baby I will get another one inserted for sure.
    Good Luck
